Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are embodied in our lives.  People can see our faith in how we live and what we do.   So what is the faith that we live by?  We are an "ancient-future" church.  "Ancient," because our beliefs and practices are based on the Bible and Christian traditions.  "Future," because following Jesus as Lord and Savior leads us to new insights and understandings as we actively seek to serve Christ by loving our neighbors.  The Episcopal Church doesn't have a teaching authority that speaks for the faithful on every point of Christian doctrine or issue of the day.  Some people are disappointed by this concept of Christian freedom and would demand a stricter discipline upon our member churches, but we see it as a faithful way of balancing our accountability to the gospel with our responsibility to our faith communities.  As Christians we don't agree on everything (and sometimes those disagreements make headlines).  We believe that our unity is found in our worship as expressed in the [Book of Common Prayer]. The best way to learn about us is by visiting us: You can expect reverent and beautiful worship and meet people who are joyful, hopeful and gracious.   We welcome your questions, and even your doubts (doubt is an essential part of faith that leads us to deeper understanding).
